MOTHER TONGUE: AN INTERESTING BOOK

Hi everybody!

I've spent part of my weekend reading "Mother tongue" by Bill Bryson. If you like languages in general, and English in particular, you'll like this book. It's about language, English and its origins, about vocabulary, pronunciation, spelling, dialects ... and many curious details about the use of English around the world. So far I've learnt that English is not always a very logical language and some times it can be very tricky if you're a foreigner ; there are lots of examples that make you smile more than once, for instance ..when a person says to you "How do you do?" he will be taken aback if you reply, with impeccable logic "how do I do what?"
I'm really enjoying it!
See you tomorrow!
