Introducing Núria
Here Núria from Girona. I’m 27 and I love English! In the third year of the English Teaching Degree I was given an Erasmus grant to do the practical in Sweden and it was a great experience. Anyway, after that I decided not to work as a teacher for the moment. I just wanted to learn more of living abroad and also to improve my English.
In order to save money to go to Australia -my target on that moment- , I got a job in Scotland. I stayed there for seven months, in a little village in the middle of nowhere, working as a waitress in a Hilton Hotel. Apart from learning how to survive in a place where the weather was so depressing for me, the food from the hotel canteen was uneatable and the place to live was just a tiny shared room, after that period I was really happy to be able to have a conversation with Scottish people and get to understand them.
Back in Girona, as I had not saved enough money to go to Australia I started working in a car-rental company in Girona Airport. And there, I met my boss who became my boyfriend and almost one year ago (6th of July), my husband. We got a flat in Girona and I studied for the “Competitive examinations” and I got a post in CEIP Jacint Verdaguer in Sils. I’ve been there for three years and I’ve been learning a lot but I still have a lot to learn. We are involved in an Innovation Project based on teaching Arts and Crafts in English, and also in the English Day. I could go on telling more things but I would never get to the end. And also, I could go on explaining what the English Day is, but I’m not going to do it because it’s the topic of my talk for tomorrow.
See you!
