COLLOCATIONS

Hello everybody!

How do you feel about collocations? I've just had lunch (a rice salad with a pair of cloves of garlic, stick of celery chops and a pinch of salt) and now I'm going to clean my house: I don't want to see a single speck of dust on the shelves! Later, taking advantage of this spell of dry weather (Gosh! how I miss the patches of fog from Vic!), I'm going out and take a breathe of fresh air.I only hope that any clap of thunder or any flash of lightning is going to disturb my walk. Then I'm going to reward myself with a bar of chocolate (black chocolate is absolutely delicious!) and have a bit of fun going out to dinner with some friends; I'm sure we'll suffer more than one fit of laughter!
And that's all! Do you think I deserve a round of applause?
See you tomorrow!

Hi everybody!
Let’s see how I deal with collocations in Girona...
I’ve arrived so late in Girona that I was really hungry and I’ve decided to have a joint of meat with mild cheese. While I was cooking my absolutely delicious lunch, a gust of wind has closed the door of my kitchen and I’ve looked through the window. The sky was getting darker and suddendly, there has been a huge flash of lightning and a clap of thunder. I’ve decided to do everything very quick and go back to the kitchen to get my lunch ready. I’ve decided to : Untie my shoe laces, unfasten my belt and my zip, unbutton my shirt and my trousers... And as there was heavy rain, also unwind the cables.
When I’ve gone back to the kitchen, I’ve seen that there wasn’t a pane of glass on my window. It was broken! Totally terrified I’ve run to clean it but, unfortunately, a splinter of glass has ended in my finger. I was getting nervous because I’d have to take a sample of blood. Anyway, the first thing to do was to have lunch, so I’ve tasted my food, and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, it was absolutely disgusting! It was burnt! But, as an act of bravery, I’ve eaten it straight away.
See you tomorrow, and don’t believe all I’ve said as there’s only a grain of truth! núria

I can see you have been really inspired by this fit of collocations and it's great to see you including them in your natural day-to-day communication! Keep it up!
